The Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Association is a multicultural organization committed to educating the public about the rich history and legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and Black Indian Scouts. Through media, educational outreach, and community engagement, we honor their pivotal contributions to settling the western United States during the 1800s. Our organization is proud to be a trusted resource for historical education and cultural enrichment.
The association engages in a variety of activities to bring history to life and inspire future generations, including:
-- Providing speakers for schools, youth groups, churches, civic organizations, and social gatherings
-- Sponsoring and supporting youth programs and initiatives
-- Participating in trail rides, parades, cultural fairs, flag postings, and other historical events
-- Maintaining a comprehensive list of historical resources available at the Institute of Texan Cultures and the San Antonio Public Library
We welcome all who share our passion for preserving history and expanding public knowledge about these unsung heroes. Whether you’re interested in becoming a member, providing corporate sponsorship, or making a contribution, we invite you to join us. Please visit our Contact Us page for more information.
